About Judy

Judy Monday, B.S., M.A.

Special Education Consultant, Systems Expert & Advocate

Judy is an elite special education consultant and advocate with more than two decades of administrative, private program, and public school district experience across Wisconsin, New Jersey, Illinois, and California. Her academic foundation seamlessly bridges specialized instruction and clinical therapeutic needs. Judy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin and a Master’s Degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Montclair State University. This unique intersection of expertise allows her to evaluate psychoeducational and speech-language assessments with the eye of a clinician, while formulating real-world classroom modifications that school staff can successfully implement.

Having served in high-level supervisory and program specialist roles within top-tier school districts, Judy possesses an intimate understanding of district-level budget structures, compliance frameworks, and resource allocation. She now uses this “insider” knowledge to empower parents, offering premium, strategic remote advocacy to families across the United States to help families secure the precise programming and placements their children need to thrive.

How I can help your family

Every child is different, and so is every school. Here are the four ways I support parents, from first concerns to holding the school accountable.

Assessment & Eligibility

Wondering if your child needs more support? Told they don't qualify? Let's sort out what's really going on.

  • Starting the evaluation process the right way
  • Understanding what the results actually mean
  • Next steps if you disagree with the outcome

Starting the process

I'll help you put your request in writing, know the timelines the school must follow, and make sure the right areas are assessed.

Understanding the results

We'll go through the reports together in plain language so you know your child's strengths, needs and what the data shows.

If you disagree, or your child "doesn't qualify"

I'll walk you through your options, including requesting an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) or exploring a Section 504 plan.

Support

IEP Meeting Support

You don't have to walk into that room alone.

  • Preparation so you know what to expect and what to ask for
  • I attend the meeting with you
  • Follow-up afterward to make sure agreements happen

Before the meeting

We'll review the records, set your priorities and plan the key points you want the team to hear.

In the meeting

I'll be at your side to ask the right questions, keep the focus on your child and help you advocate with confidence.

After the meeting

I'll help you review the draft IEP, put concerns in writing and follow up on what was agreed.

Parent consultation by phone

IEP Consultation

Understand your child's IEP, and know whether it's working.

  • A line-by-line review of the IEP
  • Are the goals measurable and meaningful?
  • Is your child actually making progress?

We'll go through the IEP together, from present levels and goals to services, accommodations and placement, and compare it with your child's progress reports and day-to-day experience.

You'll walk away with clear, practical next steps.

Reviewing documents

Accountability

When the school isn't following through, I'll help you hold them to it.

  • Documenting what is and isn't happening
  • Requesting and reviewing school records
  • Understanding your options for next steps

I'll help you organize clear documentation, communicate effectively in writing, and understand formal options such as a state complaint, mediation, or when it may be time to consult legal counsel.

I provide advocacy support, not legal advice.
